Vytautas Zabiela

Vytautas Zabiela (born November 26, 1930 in Berčiūnai , Zarasai district , Lithuania ; † November 1, 2019 ) was a Lithuanian business lawyer , lawyer and politician .

biography

From 1951 to 1957 he graduated from Vilnius University with a law degree . From 1950 to 1951 he was a teacher at the Grybėnai (Zarasai) school and from 1952 to 1953 a teacher at the Dusetos Middle School . He then worked from 1958 to 1959 as a lawyer in Utena , from 1959 to 1962 in Šiauliai and then from 1974 to 1994 in the 2nd law firm in Vilnius . In 1991 he founded his own law firm specializing in commercial law "Zabiela, Zabielaitė ir partneriai" . From 2003 to 2004 he was a member of the Seimas for the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania ( Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija ) . From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the Vilnius City Council .

Zabiela was married to the doctor Jorūnė (* 1935). The couple had a daughter Jūratė (* 1959) and a son Darius (* 1969), both lawyers. Zabiela was a co-author of the Lithuanian trade journal Justitia . He died on November 1, 2019 at the age of 88.
