The Würth AG , based in Arlesheim supplies artisans in assembly and fastening material. The company employs around 700 people - more than half of them as salespeople in the field. Würth AG is part of the global Würth Group .

Today's Würth AG was founded as screws Würth GmbH on April 30, 1962 by Reinhold Würth in Basel (1983: renamed Würth AG ). In 1963 the company headquarters was relocated to Pratteln .

In 1985 Würth AG relocated its headquarters from Münchenstein to Arlesheim . In 2003 the administration and distribution center in Arlesheim was expanded to include two large warehouses, an office wing and the Forum Würth Arlesheim, in which art and culture are presented. 1991 Würth AG opened first in Lonay , later in Crissier a branch in Romandie . In 1998, a base for Italian-speaking Switzerland was opened in Mezzovico . In 2007, the first Würth craftsman shop opened in Niederwangen .

Products

The Würth AG range includes over 150,000 products from screws, dowels and fittings to tools, machines, chemical-technical products, occupational safety, right through to vehicle equipment and warehouse management.

Business model

Trading in assembly and fastening material is the core business of Würth AG. The company employs over 380 full-time salespeople in the auto, cargo, metal, installation, maintenance, wood and construction divisions. The sales representatives advise craft and industrial companies (business-to-business). In addition to the field service, Würth AG operates 40 Würth craft shops in Switzerland.

Cultural engagement

In the Forum Würth Arlesheim, which opened in 2003, changing art exhibitions are shown mainly with works from the Würth Collection . In addition, cultural events such as readings, concerts and comedy take place in the forum on a regular basis.

In association with other Swiss Würth companies, Würth AG is the Official Sponsor of the Spengler Cup (ice hockey, since 2007) and a Premium Partner of Special Olympics Switzerland (sports programs for people with intellectual disabilities, since 2012). In February 2014, the group of companies received the "Public Award for the Best Sponsorship Campaign 2013" for their commitment to Special Olympics Switzerland. From 2005 to 2012 Würth was the main sponsor of the Tour de Suisse .
