The Würth Elektronik group of companies with its headquarters in Niedernhall ( Hohenlohe / Baden-Württemberg ) is a legally independent group of companies within the Würth Group . It produces and sells electronic components such as circuit boards , electronic components , electromechanical elements (e.g. connectors ) and complete system assemblies. Most of the customers come from the areas of industrial electronics, telecommunications, entertainment electronics, automotive, aviation, medical technology, sensor technology and renewable energies.

Corporate structure

The group of companies consists of three independent main areas with different focus areas. Together they operate 16 locations and production facilities worldwide. A fourth area, photovoltaics , was largely sold on May 1, 2013 to BayWa re (renewable energy) GmbH. A small service area of ​​Würth Solar remained in the Würth Group.

Printed circuit boards

The Würth Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG Circuit Board Technology division develops and manufactures circuit boards for industrial customers at its locations in Niedernhall (headquarters), Schopfheim and Rot am See . Another location is in Mysore , India . Under the name WEdirekt , the company operates an online shop for customized circuit boards.

Electronic and electromechanical components

The Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG , based in Waldenburg develops, manufactures and markets active, passive and electromechanical components for the electrical industry. Production facilities are located in Thyrnau (Germany), Budweis (Czech Republic), Belozem (Bulgaria), Shenyang, Fuling, Shenzhen, Huzhou (China), Singapore, Taichung (Taiwan) and Irapuato (Mexico). The subsidiary Würth Elektronik iBE GmbH ( Thyrnau , Bavaria) specializes in the automotive sector. The US subsidiary Wurth Electronics Midcom Inc. in Watertown, South Dakota, develops and produces customer-specific transformers . In 2016, the division took over AMBER wireless GmbH, a specialist in industrial IoT radio modules.

Intelligent power and control systems

Würth Elektronik ICS Intelligent Power & Control Systems (headquarters in Niedernhall -Waldzimmer) develops and manufactures primarily circuit board-based system solutions for power distributors, display and control panels and electronic controls for industrial customers. The Printed Electronics division (also in Niedernhall-Waldzimmer) develops printed electronics and sensors based on polymer thick-film technologies. The US subsidiary Wurth Electronics ICS, Inc is located in Dayton , Ohio .
