Company history

Ordinary share of 100 DM in the Allgemeine Rentenanstalt from September 1986

Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG can look back on a long tradition dating back to 1833 . At that time, under the name Allgemeine Rentenanstalt zu Stuttgart (ARA), it was the first company in Germany to start the pension insurance business.

With the formation of the Württemberg Insurance Group in 1991, ARA became Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG. After the merger of Wüstenrot and Württembergischer, Wüstenrot Lebensversicherung was integrated into Württembergische Lebensversicherung in 2000. In 2002, the Allgemeine Rentenanstalt Pensionskasse AG was founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Württembergische Lebensversicherung.

In 2005, Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG acquired the majority in Karlsruher Lebensversicherung AG and has now fully integrated it.

Württembergische Lebensversicherung AG is one of the largest life insurance companies in Germany. Together with its sales partners, it offers life and pension insurance (classic and unit-linked), as well as occupational disability insurance.
