The WET Automotive Systems AG is a company based in the Bavarian town Odelzhausen and provides vehicle seat heating systems ago.

The group generated sales of EUR 335 (270) million in the 2012 (2011) financial year. The company has been a 100 percent subsidiary of Gentherm since July 2018 .

history

WET was founded in 1968 in Munich as "Wärme- und Hygienetechnik B. Ruthenberg GmbH". The production of car seat heaters began in 1973. In 1992 the company headquarters and corporate headquarters were relocated to Odelzhausen.

The name change to WET Automotive Systems AG in 1998 was followed by the IPO in the same year , at that time in the Neuer Markt segment . In 2003, HgCapital , a private equity company, took over the company. In 2005, SeaTex AG was taken over by WET and WET Special Products GmbH was founded.

Gentherm Inc. (formerly Amerigon) has held a stake in WET AG since 2011. In June 2013, Gentherm's stake was over 95% and the squeeze-out process began to compensate minority shareholders. With the decision of the Munich Higher Regional Court of July 30, 2018, the complaints against the squeeze-out were finally rejected and all other shareholders were finally settled with 95.53 euros per share.
