The Bankhaus W. Fortmann & Söhne KG was a German private bank in Lower Saxony Oldenburg , the 1 January 2015 in a branch of the Oldenburg Landesbank (OLB) converted ( W. The establishment of the Bank W. Fortmann & Söhne was amended by Council Mr. Wilhelm Christian Diedrich Fortmann initiated and is on 1 May 1886. registration as a general partnership (OHG) in the register of the local court of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg been completed.

Partners at the time of foundation were:

  • Johann Heinrich Gramberg (banker)

On January 10, 1903, the OHG was converted into a limited partnership .

From 1976 to 2014 W. Fortmann & Söhne was a subsidiary of the Oldenburgische Landesbank (OLB).

In 1986 Dresdner Bank then took over the majority in OLB, so that Bank W. Fortmann & Sons became part of the Dresdner Bank Group. When Dresdner Bank was taken over by Allianz in 2001 , W. Fortmann & Sons also became a member of the Allianz Group. In 2008, Dresdner Bank was sold to Commerzbank and Allianz took over the majority of voting rights in OLB, which thus remained in the Allianz Group along with W. Fortmann & Sons.

On January 1, 2015, the bank was converted into a branch of OLB. The branch was closed on December 31, 2016 and the W. Fortmann & Söhne brand was discontinued.
