Program and story
The radio station went on air in April 1943 with a teaching program for the Chicago Public Schools. The station produces for National Public Radio (NPR) a. a. the Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! WBEZ was also a media partner at the Third Coast Audio Festival .
Before she became director of the ARD Studio Los Angeles , Nicole Markwald gained some of her first journalistic experience at WBEZ in Chicago.
