Nicole Markwald

Nicole Markwald (born June 1974 in Kyritz ) is a German journalist and director of the ARD radio studio in Los Angeles .

Life

Nicole Markwald grew up in a village in East Prignitz . After graduating from high school in Neuruppin , she studied journalism and North American studies at the Free University of Berlin and was a participant in the 14th teaching department at the Berlin School of Journalism .

In 1992 Nicole Markwald was an au pair in Newnan , Georgia . In 1996 she was a DAAD exchange student at Northwestern University in Evanston , Illinois . In 2006, Markwald was a fellow of the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship in Austin , Texas .

Nicole Markwald gained her first radio experience with the university broadcaster WNUR in Evanston (USA) and later with the NPR offshoot WBEZ in Chicago .

From 2000 she worked as an editor, reporter and presenter for the youth broadcaster of the RBB , Radio Fritz in Potsdam. From the beginning of 2007 she also worked as a reporter for Radio Berlin, RBB and moderator for the English news program of Deutsche Welle in Bonn.

From September 2009 Nicole Markwald was a junior correspondent in the shared office of HR / RB / SR / RBB in Washington. In 2011 she switched to hr-iNFO in Frankfurt as a presenter and reporter. Nicole Markwald has been the director of the ARD radio studio in Los Angeles since April 2013 .
