The WDR2 Arena was a two-hour call-in radio talk show in which experts were able to talk about current topics in a panel discussion. Listeners could make their own point of view or ask questions via phone call, email, post on Facebook or the station's own app . On May 18, 2017, the last edition ran for the time being, moderator Michael Brocker thanked his listeners. The service time broadcast on Wednesday is also omitted. The program will be replaced by an evening program with Jörg Thadeusz (19:00 to 20:00) and WDR2 POP (20:00 to 23:30).

Time slot

The arena was broadcast live on Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This was followed by WDR2 Trends , a music program specially for new music. From Monday to Thursday, consumer, service and entertainment programs with a high proportion of speech were broadcast on the slot from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

history

The arena was shown on television for the first time on Wednesday, September 23, 2015. The 90-minute special with NRW Prime Minister Hannelore Kraft was moderated by Till Nassif and Sabine Scholt . The topic was the refugee crisis . The program ran under the title The Refugees and Us . Another episode ( The Refugees and Us - How Can We Do It? ) Aired in November.
