Sabine Scholt (born August 2, 1962 in Dorsten ) is a German journalist . She became known as a long-standing presenter of WDR - broadcast Westpol and editorial director for NRW - state politics at WDR television .

Life

Scholt studied German , history and political science in Bochum, Münster and Cologne.

During her studies, she worked as a freelancer for the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung . In 1985 she started working for WDR as a freelancer for the current hour . Two years later she moved to Frankfurt for the Hessischer Rundfunk . From 1989 to 1990 she completed a traineeship at WDR and then became editor of the current hour , which she moderated for eight years. From 1999 she hosted the WDR talk show , until 2000 together with Geert Müller-Gerbes , later alone. From 2000 to 2019 she was a presenter for a total of 19 years, initially alternating with Gabi Ludwig , and most recently with Henrik Hübschen , on the regional political WDR program Westpol . Since 2004 she has also been the head of the WDR's regional policy for television and since 2006 deputy editor-in-chief of the WDR regional programs. In June 2020, Scholt presented the ARD special program ARD Extra for the first time and in July 2020 the ARD talk show Press Club .

Scholt is married and has two children.
