Gabi Ludwig

Gabi Ludwig (* 1962 in Gütersloh ) is a German television journalist .

Life

Gabi Ludwig studied journalism at the University of Dortmund from 1982 to 1989 (minor in law at the University of Hagen). As part of her studies, she completed an internship at WDR , where she accompanied the start of regional television programs. During her studies as well as after graduating as a journalist, she worked as a freelancer for the television editorial team of the Dortmund WDR studio. In 1990 she became an editor in the Düsseldorf WDR studio, and in 1993 she moved to the state politics editorial office. After two years as an editor at ZDF , she returned to WDR in 1996.

As head of the television editorial team in the Wuppertal WDR studio, she introduced the program Lokalzeit Bergisches Land . In 1998 she became head of the newly formed regional program group and, at the same time, deputy editor-in-chief of the state programs program area. Gabi Ludwig has been editor-in-chief of the NRW regional programs on WDR television since December 2006. She has moderated the program Westpol since 2007, alternating with Sabine Scholt (until 2019) and with Henrik Hübschen (since 2017).

Gabi Ludwig is married and has one son.
