The Hanseatic City of Rostock is a partner in WIRO. With 35,182 of its own apartments (as of 2018), WIRO is one of the largest housing companies in Germany. Around every third Rostock resident lives in a WIRO apartment. The largest apartment contingents of WIRO are located in the prefabricated housing estates Lütten Klein (6,138 apartments) and Evershagen (4,959), where they each own over 50% of the total housing stock (as of 2018).
