Joseph-Victor Leclerc
Joseph-Victor Leclerc (born December 2, 1787 in Paris , † November 12, 1865 ) was a French linguist . He was professor of rhetoric at the Lycée Charlemagne , then a lecturer (called Maître de conference ) at the École normal , professor of Latin rhetoric ( éloquence latine ) at the Faculté de lettres of the Sorbonne , from 1832 as dean . In 1834 he became a member of the Institut de France ( Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres ).
