WMB (motorcycle manufacturer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WMB was a Hungarian motorcycle manufacturer based on the Csepel Danube island in Budapest in the 1930s . The founder was Manfréd Weiss , owner of the Budapest steel and metal works . The company name (company) is derived from W eiss, M anfréd, B udapest .

At first, motorcycles with boxer engines and cardan drive were built, which looked strikingly similar to the models from BMW . The sales success, however, left a lot to be desired.

Later models with two-stroke engines with 100 and 125 cm³ were offered, which sold better.

In 1939 production was stopped due to the war. After the Second World War , the vehicle manufacturer Csepel emerged from the plant .
