Werner Meinecke

Werner Meinecke (* 1910 ; † 1971 ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran theologian , regional church councilor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony and member of the board of the Association of Evangelical Pastors .

Live and act

Meinecke studied Protestant theology after obtaining his university entrance qualification . In 1937 he was curate in Trünzig and 1938 as pastor ordained . In 1946 he became pastor at the Zionskirche in Dresden , and in 1948 at the Heilandskirche in Dresden-Cotta . In the 1950s he was appointed regional church councilor. In 1957 Meinecke retired .

The regime theologian Meinecke was a member of the Church and Religion Commission of the SED , which was founded in June 1946. Meinecke joined the Association of Evangelical Pastors and was elected to its board.

Werner Meinecke was a member of the Christian Peace Conference . He worked in the 1st All-Christian Peace Assembly , which took place in Prague in 1961 . In 1960 he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit.
