Broadcast rights
WMVP holds the broadcast rights to the Chicago Wolves ice hockey team . In addition, it broadcasts American football and basketball games from the Northwestern Wildcats , unless the broadcaster WGN does this .
history
The station was founded in 1926 as a station of the Chicago Federation of Labor and broadcast as The Voice of Labor until 1978. Then the station was bought by a Christian radio company and operated for almost ten years. From 1988 the station changed its name to WLUP and thus complemented the program of the long-standing VHF sister station WLUP-FM . In 1993, the two stations were ABC Inc. in WMVP or WMVP-FM renamed and redefined to sports talk radio.
