WP-Magazin is a magazine that has been published by Thomas Arndt since 1995 . It was the first magazine that dealt exclusively with the subject of domestic bird keeping, especially budgies .
History and Development
The magazine WP-Magazin was created by Thomas Arndt and his editorial team u. a. Matthias Reinschmidt developed in 1995 years. The "W" stands for budgie and "P" for parrots. The subtitle was initially “The magazine for budgie and parrot keepers” and was changed in 1996 to “magazine for bird keepers” and in 2015 to “Europe's largest magazine for pet bird keepers”.
This is published by Arndt-Verlag . The subject areas include keeping, nutrition, diseases and free life of parrots, parakeets and travel reports. One focus is on reporting on the humane keeping of budgies and other pet birds. The magazine was initially published quarterly, since 1997 it has been published every other month and is among other things. a. also available at kiosks.
The editorial team of the journal includes experts with a scientific or veterinary background from Germany and abroad. The professional competence is guaranteed by an additional expert council, which acts as a technical advisory board for the editorial team, including Thomas Arndt and Matthias Reinschmidt .
In 2016, the first WP workshop took place in cooperation with Loro Parque and Loro Parque Fundación especially for bird keepers. In 2019 WP magazine celebrates its 25th anniversary.
