Magazines

In 1988 the journal Parrotien was founded. It was initially published four times a year, and has been published monthly since 1997. Her thematic focus is on parrots and parakeets as well as their breeding, keeping and free life. Technical articles from science and practice, field reports and veterinary topics complement this content. The largest German-speaking classifieds market for buying and selling parrots and other bird species in Europe is also an integral part of the program.

The WP magazine , first published in 1995, was initially published four times a year, since 1997 it has been published every two months. It is dedicated in particular as a guide to keeping and nutrition of all domestic bird species. In addition, there are reports on free-living relatives of the typical pet birds as well as veterinary texts and reports on experiences from the keeping of ornamental birds in this publication.

Several biologists, veterinarians and other experts make up the editorial offices of the two specialist magazines, the responsible editor for the WP magazine was the biologist Rainer Niemann until August 2017 , and since then Gaby Schulemann-Maier has been responsible for the editorial team of the WP magazine. Matthias Reinschmidt was the editor-in-chief of the specialist magazine Parrot from 1993 to 2001, Thomas Arndt from 2001 to 2018.

In April 2019, the journal Gefiederte Welt was taken over by Eugen Ulmer Verlag . Thus, the previous range of action from parrots and pet birds is expanded to include birds.

Series of publications

From 1997 to 1999 the Arndt-Verlag published the series Parrot Studies - Parrot Biology , which was edited by Thomas Arndt, Ralph Schmidt and Werner Lantermann .
