Association of Southwest German Magazine Publishers

The Südwestdeutsche Zeitschriftenverleger-Verband (SZV) was founded in 1950 and is a registered association based in Stuttgart . Print publishers, digital companies and service providers for everything to do with the magazine industry have organized themselves into the business association. It comprises around 130 medium-sized magazine publishers and is the largest of the five supporting associations of the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ) in Berlin .

tasks

The Südwestdeutsche Zeitschriften-Verleger-Verband (SZV) represents the economic, media-political, social and cultural interests of the member publishers in Baden-Württemberg , Hesse , Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland and makes numerous services available to its members. These include legal advice, industry information, events with speakers as well as advocacy and social policy.

At the national level, there is cooperation with the umbrella organization, the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ).

Initial and continuing education

Together with the Burda School of Journalism , the Media University (HdM) in Stuttgart and the VDZ Academy , comprehensive training and further education are offered for journalists and media professionals in the area of ​​activity of the SZV.

Board

Detlef Koenig has been the first chairman since 2019. Sabine Fischer heads the office.
