WWTC ("The Patriot") is a conservative talk radio station in the metropolitan area of Minneapolis-Saint Paul . WWTC is the oldest station of its kind in the Twin Cities and went on air in 2001. It is one of the conservative talk radio stations of the Salem Media Group and is listed in second place in the “Market Ratings” group. Sister stations in the metropolitan region, which also belong to the Salem Group , are KDIZ , KKMS and KYCR .
WWTC transmits on medium wave (MW) 1280 k Hz . The transmitter is for a capacity of 5 k W licensed.
Local history researcher Jeff Lonto wrote a book about WWTC in 1998 entitled Fiasco At 1280 , in which he explains the wrong decisions made by the station in the 1980s.
