Waegwan is the administrative seat of (Gun) Chilgok County in ( Do ) North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea . The city lies on both sides of the Nakdonggang , which is bridged there by various traffic routes, including the Gyeongbu railway line.

Waegwan is home to the Waegwan Monastery of the Mission Benedictines and a base of the US Army , Camp Carroll.
