The Arms Register Act contains the provisions on the National Arms Register in Germany. This enables weapons authorities to trace the entire life cycle of weapons and essential parts and to exchange information about the processed data. The Weapons Register Act was enacted on February 17, 2020 and replaces the National Weapons Register Act with effect from September 1, 2020. Weapons manufacturers and arms dealers are generally obliged to notify the authorities electronically of their use of weapons.
