The von Wagner family is a Bernese patrician family belonging to the Zunftgesellschaft zu Schmieden .

history

The family from Grasswil is first recorded in Bern with the scribe Michel Wagner († 1591). In Bern, the Wagnerians provided numerous members of the Grand Council (1585 to 1798 continuously), governors and several Venners . Members of the family temporarily owned the lordships of Duillier and Bremgarten, Montagny Castle near Lutry, Muri Castle , Campagne Ortbühl and other country estates.
