Waldeck Ornelas
Waldeck Vieira Ornelas (born July 6, 1945 in Ipiaú , Bahia ) is a Brazilian politician.
Career
Waldeck Ornelas studied law at the Universidade Federal da Bahia . He was a member of the Câmara dos Deputados from 1987 to 1991 and from 1994 to 1995 . He was then from 1995 to 1998 Senator in the Senado Federal do Brasil for the state of Bahia . In the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, he held the post of Minister of Welfare ( Ministro de Estado da Previdência e Assistência Social ) from April 7, 1998 to February 24, 2001 .
