Waldemar Schlichting

Waldemar Schlichting (* 1896 in Berlin ; † 1970 ibid) was a German marine painter .

Life

Waldemar Schlichting was the son of the impressionist painter Max Schlichting and a student of Blank, Krause and Kahle at the Art Academy in Berlin and a student at the Art Academy in Königsberg and was a member of the professional association of visual artists in Berlin since 1946. His works can be found in the museums of Cuxhaven and Schwerin exhibited. Schlichting's work is characterized above all by its balanced composition and atmospheric sea and ship views.

He painted regularly from 1925 to 1935 in the artist colony of Nida on the Curonian Spit . At times he also lived on Sylt .
