The law firm was founded in Zurich in 1972 by Ernst Walder, Hans B. Wyss and Paul Maier as "Walder Wyss & Maier". From 1985, after founding partner Paul Maier left and additional partners joined the company under the name “Walder Wyss & Partner”, the law firm quickly developed into a rapidly growing but still local force in the Swiss legal industry.
