Waldkirch (Winterbach)

Waldkirch is a district with around 300 inhabitants (2015) in the Winterbach municipality in the Günzburg district in Bavaria . Today's municipality of Winterbach was created on July 1, 1972 through the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Winterbach, Waldkirch and Rechbergreuthen .

The church village is one and a half kilometers north of Winterbach and can be reached via the GZ 11 district road.

In the late Middle Ages , the lords of Waldkirch are proven to be local lords and fiefs of the Counts of Kirchberg . It was not until the transfer to the Lords of Freyberg in 1511 that the place was spared a future change of rule.
