Valery Miladowitsch Sjutkin ( Russian Валерий Миладович Сюткин ; born March 22, 1958 in Moscow ) is a Russian singer.

biography

In the early 1970s he began playing drums and electric bass in several amateur bands at the same time. During appearances in school ensembles, he played songs by the Beatles , Grand Funk Railroad , Deep Purple , Led Zeppelin , Slade and the Smokie .

In 1982 he joined the Telefon group (Russian: Телефон ), which two years later became a professional philharmonic collective.

In January 1985 Sjutkin founded the band Fen-o-Men (Russian Фэн-о-мен ), and released the album Ikra Sernistaja (Russian Икра зернистая ) ( German  grainy caviar ), as well as a solo album Twist-Kaskad (Russian. Твист-каскад ).

In August 1990 he went to the band Brawo , with whom he worked until May 1995 and worked out his own style. In the texts he uses a slang of the subculture of the 1940s to 1960s; musically it is based on the popular American 1950s.

In 1995 he left Brawo and founded Sjutkin & Co (Russian Сюткин и Ко ). In the same year, the song 7000 über der Erde (Russian 7000 над землёй ) from the album Das, what one needs (Russian То, что надо ) was named the best hit of the year.

From 2001 to 2002, Syutkin was the presenter of a musical program on the TV station Rossiya 1 .

In March 2008, the singer was awarded the "Honored Artist of Russia" award.
