Wallenius Lines

Wallenius Lines is a Swedish shipping company based in Stockholm that belongs to the Soya Group (Rederi AB Soya). The company is considered a pioneer in car transport by sea and operated (as of January 2011) a fleet of 34 ships for the worldwide transport of vehicles and wheeled cargo. The ships operated were chartered and mostly belonged to companies in which Wallenius held shares.

The shipping company was founded in 1934 by Olof Wallenius . When he died in 1970, his stepson John Kleberg became president of the company. From October 1, 2005 Lone Fønss Schrøder held this position.

In April 2017, Wallenius Lines and the Norwegian Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding the company Wallenius Wilhelmsen. Wallenius Lines brought their ships into the company, which have been operated by Wallenius Wilhelmsen ever since. Bereedert they are vessels of Wallenius Marine, a subsidiary of Wallenius Lines.

The shipping company operates, among other things, the Undine , with which operating experience in the use of solid oxide fuel cells operated with methanol was to be collected as part of a project of the METHAPU consortium to investigate sustainable shipping .
