The Wallesch Chapel in Dürrbachtal (Dürrbach Chapel, Brother Klaus Chapel) is a monument built between 1892 and 1893 on the basis of a foundation by Pastor Wallesch from Dürrbach and according to plans by the Prüm architect Krekeler . At the obligation of the bishop it was transferred to the parish church of Wetteldorf in 1895. In 1896 it was consecrated by the Bishop of Trier.

location

The building is located in the municipality of Seiwerath near Dürrbach in the Saalbach. It is built in the Art Nouveau style.

particularities

All openings are arched and with smooth stone edging, only those of the entrance are profiled. The two door wings, the tiled floor, the altar, the cross-way panels and probably also the simple stalls date from the construction period. On the roof of the building is a bronze weathercock that was financed by donations as part of a village festival in the 1980s. The patron saint of the country people, Brother Klaus, and his wife Dorothea are especially venerated in the chapel. The statue inside the chapel was financed by Mr. Rudolf Meyer with the help of donations.

use

The chapel was used regularly for devotions, baptisms and other occasions.

Due to a change in use, the inventory was removed and the chapel is now permanently open.
