The pilgrimage church of Brugarola ( Italian Santuario della Brugarola ) is a Marian place of worship, which is dedicated to the Madonna of Oropa .

It is located in a chestnut forest at an altitude of 699 m in the municipality of Ailoche , in the province of Biella , on the road that leads to the Alm de Noveis. In addition to the church, it also includes a civil building that once served as a residence for the hermits .

Together with the Sanctuary of Banchette near Bioglio and the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Brughiera in Trivero , it is part of the group of smaller pilgrimage sites in the Biella area , along the CoEUR hiking and pilgrimage routes and on the San Carlo path .

It was built in 1722 in honor of the Madonna of Oropa with the name Beata Vergine Incoronata (a votive pillar with the image of the Black Madonna reminds of her cult in this area since ancient times).

Access to the pilgrimage church - whose facade is richly decorated with stucco work and statues - is via a stone staircase. The main altar is dedicated to the Madonna, which is between the hll. Eusebius and Bernhard is shown; the side altars are dedicated to the apostle Peter and St. Consecrated Francis .

The park surrounding the pilgrimage site includes a small square where folk festivals are held in August.
