Wallstreet (climbing route)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Wall Street in the Franconian Switzerland was the world's first climbing route , with the degree of difficulty was rated XI. The tour at the Krottenseer Turm (in the Krottenseer Forest near Neuhaus an der Pegnitz ) was first climbed in 1987 by Wolfgang Güllich ( red point ).

The original route was rated X +. However, since climbers who attempted a repetitive ascent had enlarged one of the grips (finger hole) (whether accidentally or deliberately to gain such an advantage, it could never be clarified), Wolfgang Güllich cemented this hole completely and climbed this more difficult route again . Only through this change compared to the natural state did the higher level of difficulty arise. The first repetition of the approximately 25 m long route was done by Guido Köstermeyer in 1989. The first women's ascent took place in June 2014 by Mélissa Le Nevé .
