The Walsh Knob is a small and icy hill with a cliff on the south side, which in the east of Thurston Island before Eights Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands located. It rises halfway up the south coast of the Lofgren Peninsula .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after R. W. Walsh, photographer of the Eastern Group of the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946-1947), who created aerial photographs of Thurston Island and the adjacent coastal areas.
