Walter Eiardt

Walter Eiardt (born June 16, 1892 in Barmen ; † April 20, 1982 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1947 to 1950 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Eiardt attended elementary school and in 1903 applied for admission to the sixth form of the upper secondary school, which he completed in 1912 with the matriculation examination. He then studied German, history and geography at the universities in Bonn and Leipzig. In March 1920 he passed the state examination in Halle an der Saale, where he also received his doctorate, and then did the preparatory service at the grammar school in his native Barmen. In March 1921 he passed the assessor examination. From July 1922 to April 1926 he worked in the textile industry in Barmen, and from April 1926 he worked as a teacher in Essen, and from August 1946 as senior director of studies.

Eiardt joined the SPD after the Second World War and became chairman of the working group of social democratic teachers. He was also the founder and head of the Association of Social Democratic Intellectual Workers in Essen. In the state elections for the first legislative period of North Rhine-Westphalia, he was able to win the direct mandate in the constituency 064 Essen-Steele-Huttrop. He only belonged to the state parliament during this electoral period, from April 20, 1947 to June 17, 1950.
