Career
Hernández played at club level at least in 1957, 1958 and 1960 for Club Atlético Defensor , which he had joined in 1957 after a move from Danubio FC . In the 1957 season , he was the top scorer in the Primera División , scoring 16 of his team's 41 goals this season. In addition, his team won the Torneo Cuadrangular , which was part of that year , but it was not played until January 1958. In 1960 he won the first edition of the Copa Artigas with Defensor .
