Max Mitterer

Max Mitterer (born October 11, 1887 in Aicha ; † October 13, 1960 in Passau ) was a German Catholic canon lawyer and professor at the Philosophical-Theological University of Passau .

Mitterer studied theology and philosophy in Passau and Munich and was ordained a priest in 1911. From 1915 he studied theology in Munich until he received his doctorate in Munich in 1920. He then studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in Berlin. In 1930 he was appointed professor for canon law and Bavarian constitutional and administrative law in Passau. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
