Aicha vorm Wald is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .

geography

Geographical location

The community is located in the foothills of the Bavarian Forest with a connection to the federal motorway 3 between Passau (20 km) and Deggendorf (35 km). It is also 12 km from Vilshofen . The Gaißa flows through the municipality, which flows into the Danube just before Passau .

history

Until the church is planted

The settlement name appears for the first time around 1150 as an oak marriage . Documents such as Aichakeirchen and Aichehechirchen date from around the same time , which indicates a settlement with a church. The name is originally derived from the Old High German word eihhahi for "oak forest". In order to avoid confusion with places of the same name, the addition vorm Wald was added from around 1720 as an indication of the location of the place near the Bavarian Forest. Aicha vorm Wald belonged to the Barons von Peckenzell. The place was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark , whose seat was Aicha. In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

On May 1, 1978 part of the Windorf market was incorporated.

In the period from 1988 to 2018, the municipality grew from 2,052 to 2,401 by 349 inhabitants or 17%.

Since the local elections on March 15, 2020, the municipal council has been composed as follows:

• CSU : 8 seats (55.8% of the vote)
• ÜW : 6 seats (44.2% of the votes)

mayor

Georg Hatzesberger (CSU) has been mayor since May 1, 2014. He was elected to succeed Theodor Schuster (Free Voters) in the runoff election; in the election on March 15, 2020, he was elected for a further six years with 80.6% of the vote.

Theodor Schuster succeeded Siegfried Mayor ( CSU / Free Voters Union) in 2002 and was confirmed in his office in 2008 with 77.72%.

Finances

The municipal tax receipts in 2012 totaled 1,496,000 euros.

In 2013 there were 1,047 employees subject to social security contributions at the place of work. There were 923 employees who were subject to social security contributions and who lived in Aicha vorm Wald. This meant that the municipality had 124 people more inbound than outbound commuters.

In 2010 there were 25 farms. In 2013, 1,050 hectares (51.6%) of the municipal area were used for agriculture, 666 hectares (32.7%) were forest. The settlement area was 286 hectares (14.1%).

traffic

The community is located at the highway A3 (junction 114). Hutthurm is reached via a well-developed motorway slip road . In the future, the line will run from Hauzenberg to Vilshofen on the Danube .

Leisure and sports facilities

The large discotheque Vulcano has been located in Aicha vorm Wald since 1992 .

In addition, the western town of Pullmann City is located a few kilometers north in the direction of Eging am See .

The Catholic Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul

Buildings

• Aicha Castle in front of the forest
• The late Baroque parish church of St. Petrus and Paulus was built from 1726 to 1737 by Jakob Pawanger on the medieval foundation walls. The miraculous image of the former pilgrimage is a late Gothic figure of Mary with a child. In 1879 the church received a spire instead of the onion dome.
