history
Until the church is planted
Ruderting was around 3000 BC. Settled and refers to the Cham culture group . Traces of the stay of the Celts (600–100 BC) were also found in the municipality.
In the circumstantial proceedings, the name of the village "Rudert" -ing was successfully derived. The result shows the nobleman "Rudbert or Rudpert von Hals" (usually incorrectly mentioned as "Rupert") as the namesake and initiator of the settlement Rud (b) erting. According to a plausible justification, Rudbert's lifetime around the year 1100 is therefore the year of the founding of today's district of Ruderting. Ruderting was first mentioned in a document in 1311, some districts as early as 1280. Ruderting belonged to the Landshut Rent Office and the Vilshofen Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria .
In the Middle Ages, administrative offices were found with the chairpersons in the court of Hals and for the community district of Sittenberg in the court of Dießenstein , before the community of Ruderting was combined in one community with 23 districts in 1808.
Trade routes
Two old, supraregional trade routes (today State Road 2323) cross in the district of Ruderting: The state road coming from Vilshofen via the Tiefenbach district of Haselbach up to Ruderting and down into the Ilz valley. The river is crossed in Fischhaus and takes travelers to the Hutthurm market on the B 12, formerly known as the “Goldener Steig” salt trade route between Passau and Bohemia . The old trade route from Passau via Tittling to Grafenau to Regen ran through the district of Ruderting in a south-north direction until the bypass road was built in 1999 . It was laid out in the 14th century by Emperor Charles IV and is now known as the "Glass Street".
20th and 21st centuries
Ruderting has always been a traffic junction and developed into a regional center in the 20th century, especially since 1925 after the establishment of the meat and sausage factory Zitzlsberger & Muttenhammer Z & M, which no longer exists. Today, the relative proximity to the city of Passau, local jobs and the high leisure and recreational value of the Ilz Valley and the southern Bavarian Forest are the reason why many citizens choose Ruderting as a place to live and vacation.

In the period from 1988 to 2018, the municipality grew from 2,501 to 3,170 by 669 inhabitants or 26.8%.
