history
Until the church is planted
It can be assumed that Neuburg Castle was built around 1050. In 1310 the castle was destroyed in the Bavarian-Austrian conflict. The current building stock comes largely from the subsequent reconstruction of the victorious Habsburgs . Austria exercised sovereignty in the immediate imperial county of Neuburg . Due to constant pledges, Neuburg kept changing hands until the Passau bishopric bought the county in 1730/39. With the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss of 1803, the place came to Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipal edict of 1818 created the municipalities of Neuburg am Inn and Neukirchen am Inn.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, the previously independent community Neukirchen am Inn and parts of the dissolved communities Eglsee and Engertsham (hamlet Niederreisching) were incorporated. Parts of Sulzbach am Inn were added on July 1, 1972. The municipal administration has its seat in Neukirchen a.Inn.
