Walter Hofer (politician)

Walter Hofer (born March 29, 1940 in Neufeld an der Leitha ; † March 18, 2004 in Pottendorf ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and labor inspector. From 1984 to 1993 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

Life

After elementary school, Hofer attended grammar school and then graduated from a higher technical college (HTL) for mechanical engineering, where he also passed the Matura. Hofer subsequently worked professionally as a labor inspector. From 1970 onwards he was involved in local politics as a councilor in Ebenfurth , in 1973 he was elected to the city council and in 1975 he was again a councilor. As a result, he took over the office of mayor between 1980 and 1993, after which he was again a local councilor. Furthermore, Hofer was active as district chairman of the association of community representatives and represented the SPÖ Lower Austria from June 7, 1984 to January 25, 1996 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. Karl Pietsch moved up for him .
