Walter Kersten
Walter Kersten (born July 6, 1926 in Obersuhl ; † April 28, 2011 ) was a German biochemist .
Kersten was head of the Institute for Biochemistry at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg for many years . He coordinated the DFG Collaborative Research Center “Early Detection of Cancer”. Together with his wife Helga (1926–2008), he conducted research in the field of cytostatics and the transfer of genetic information from genes to proteins.
