The climb

Walter Möhring (†  July 1, 1933 in Nuremberg ) was a German drawing teacher and a pioneer in adult education.

Life

Walter Möhring worked at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts from 1910 to 1917. Later he was inspector of drawing lessons at the Nuremberg elementary schools and director of the “Open Drawing Room”, a project for adult education that he initiated with his application to the Nuremberg city government on June 16, 1910. This open drawing room is also considered the start of the Rudolf Diesel Technical School in Nuremberg. The TH Nürnberg also makes historical reference to the open drawing room initiated by Möhring. This should therefore be the forerunner of the training course design. Möhring was editor of the magazine Der Aufstieg (monthly magazine for the promotion of popular education).

He was also a member of the editorial team of the Entomologische Blätter (probably from 1911 to 1917). This was an international monthly for the biology of beetles in Europe with a special focus on forest entomology. Möhring was also the chairman of the Entomological Association in Schwabach near Nuremberg and in 1906 directed the Entomological Exhibition in Schwabach.

Möhring was an employee and friend of Hermann Luppe . On the day of his suspension, July 1, 1933, he put an end to his life. Walter Möhring lived in Schwabach until 1908, later he lived in Nuremberg in the Rennweg 72 house .
