Walter Maack

Walter Maack (born July 12, 1907 in Exten , † June 26, 1971 in Rinteln ) was a German publicist and author.

After attending elementary school in Exten and graduating from the Ernestinum Rinteln , Maack studied German, history and journalism at various universities.

In 1931 he went to the “ Schaumburger Zeitung ” as an editorial trainee . He stayed there for 40 years, most recently as editor . In addition to his actual journalistic work, he wrote a long series of scientific and popular writings about Rinteln and the closer Schaumburg homeland, many of them about his place of birth Exten. Many of the articles he wrote also appeared in the “Schaumburger Zeitung”.

In the "Schaumburg Bibliography" by Friedrich Busch (Verlag Lax, Hildesheim 1964) over 150 publications by Walter Maack are listed.

According to him, is Walter-Maack street named in Rinteln.
