Walter Prutscher

Walter Prutscher (born January 2, 1914 ; † January 9, 2002 ) was an Austrian architect .

Life

Walter Prutscher was the son of the engineer Joseph Prutscher (* January 1, 1884 in Budapest) and Leopoldine Prutscher, née Ebner (* 1896). He studied from 1935 to 1939 at the Technical University of Vienna . From 1955 to 1968 he held an assistant position for handicrafts, interior design and garden design and in the meantime received his doctorate in 1961.

According to his designs, the Hirschstettner parish church in the 22nd district of Vienna was built (1959–1961) and the Catholic. Filial church hl. Augustin in Innermanzing , Lower Austria (from 1955). With fellow architects Walter Foral and Kurt Reinhart he built from 1952 to 1953 the council Bosch 20-22 with 168 residential units, with colleagues Alfons Hetmanek, Anton Josef Osika, Wilhelm Urbanek and Elisabeth Pongracz 1957-1959 the council Hofmannsthalgasse 12-24 with 294 residential units and with his colleague Richard Siedek from 1963 to 1965 the community building at Breitenfurter Strasse 299–303 with 72 residential units.

Prutscher was buried on January 23, 2002 in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 48, extension D, row 11, number 10).
