Walter Riesgo

Walter Riesgo Larraz (born July 4, 1952 - † July 27, 2014 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan politician.

Walter Riesgo, who belonged to the Partido Colorado and its Comité Ejecutivo Nacional , held a mandate between 1989 and 1994 as a member of the Department of Rivera in the Cámara de Representantes . After his election in 1994, he took up the post of Intendente of Rivera on February 15, 1995 . In this capacity he worked until his resignation on October 1, 1995. In the 1999 elections in Uruguay , he was elected to the Cámara de Senadores . At the party-political level, Riesgo led the Lista 123 "Todo por Rivera" and was a member of "Vamos Uruguay". He died at the age of 63 after a serious illness diagnosed the previous month.
