Walter Scheibert

Walter Scheibert (born October 16, 1889 in Wehlau , East Prussia , † January 19, 1944 near Lutsk , Ukraine ) was a German administrative lawyer .

Scheibert studied law at the Albertus University in Königsberg . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Königsberg fraternity in 1908 . After participating in the First World War and passing the assessor examination , he became a regional councilor in the East Prussian provincial administration . As the department head for cultural affairs, he promoted state research. In 1925 he became secretary of the Tannenberg National Monument Association . During the Second World War he was head of the budget department at Reichskommissar Ukraine from 1941 . Partisans murdered him there on a business trip in January 1944.
