Walter Sohnle (born June 17, 1944 in Augsburg ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Sohnle began his professional career in 1965 at TSV Schwaben Augsburg . From 1969 he played for FC Augsburg , which emerged from the merger of TSV Schwaben Augsburg with BC Augsburg. Two years later, Sohnle left FC Augsburg and moved to TSV 1860 Munich . In 1974, the then thirty-year-old son announced the end of his professional career.

successes

Because of his footballing skills, Sohnle was accepted into the amateur national team as a defender. He then played a total of 16 amateur internationals under coach Jupp Derwall . His first appearance as an amateur national player was on April 7, 1970 against Austria.

Sohnle was also shortlisted for the German soccer team at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
