Wanda and the Alien (Original title: Wanda and the Alien ) is a British animated series . The broadcast started in Great Britain on August 30, 2014. The German-language broadcast began on pay TV on January 25, 2015 on Nick Jr. , the series was shown for the first time on free TV on February 16, 2015 on Nickelodeon . The series is aimed at preschoolers .

Wanda and the Alien is based on a children's book series by British author Sue Hendra .

Wanda, a five-year-old rabbit girl, meets a green, four-eyed alien in the forest who has come to earth with a rocket. Wanda and the alien become friends and from now on explore their environment together. The alien in particular repeatedly encounters phenomena and situations that are new to him, which it then explores together with Wanda.

The basic message of the series is aimed at tolerance towards "others", the protagonists show that values ​​such as friendship and trust have nothing to do with outward appearances.

Wanda and the Alien was the first children's television series commissioned by Random House Children's Screen Entertainment (RHCSE). The series was produced at Mackinnon & Saunders Digital Studios in Manchester . The studio was nominated for Wanda and the Alien at the Big Cip Awards 2015 for Best Use of Animation for Wanda and the Alien , but the award went to Kilogram Animation Studio for Tall Tales Part 2 .

Children's books

In 2011, children's book illustrator and author Sue Hendra published the first book in the series Wanda and the Alien , on which the television series is based. So far four parts have been published.
