The mural of Count Anton Günther is a mural by the German painter August Oetken in the Lower Saxony city of Oldenburg . He created it around 1894/95 on behalf of the architect Ludwig Klingenberg for the "Hotel Graf Oldenburg" located in the center of the city (corner of Lange Strasse and Kurwickstrasse). The painting on the east wall of the building shows the Oldenburg Count Anton Günther on his favorite horse, the gray apple "crane".

Technology and history

The picture was created using silicate painting . In 1951 a major addition followed by the painter Kurt Sandstede . A first major restoration was carried out in 1991, a second from summer 2010. The city silhouette incorporated in the lower part of the picture was made visible again. The work was completed in September 2010. The cost was around 10,000 .
