Wander flag
Wander flag is the name of a traditional award given to groups and people for outstanding performance in sport or in other areas.
history
The timing of this type of honor cannot yet be determined. The first copies are likely to have been awarded as early as the 19th century . Their use is still common in sports clubs to this day, as demonstrated by examples from shooting clubs and rural youth associations .
GDR and other states of the Eastern bloc
In the GDR, the traveling flag was awarded by government agencies as an award piece in the socialist competition. The FDGB lexicon from 2009 writes about this: a .:
“A W. was a state award for winning companies in the competition. She was in the three categories W. of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry or State Secretary. as well as the council of the district. The W. of the Council of Ministers was awarded together with the BuV of the FDGB to 'Republic Winner in Competition'. These were the best companies or combines in the VEB competition of selected branches of industry and business. The W. des Min. Or Staatssekr. was established together with the ZV of IG / Gew. awarded to 'group winners in the competition' of the respective industry or economic sector. The council of the district was awarded jointly with the BV of the FDGB to 'winning companies in the district competition of the locally managed economy'. A certificate and a monetary bonus belonged to the W., whereby the premiums of the W. des Min. Or Staatssekr. and the council of the district were 50% of that of the council of ministers. ... From 1953 onwards, the management and BGL were also obliged to award a month to the department with the best results in internal competition. AW "
In the Soviet Union and other socialist countries, it was also common to give traveling flags.
